Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins Sign Up for John Carter from Mars
Now that we know they're filming in Utah, it seems Pixar has found its two main actors for their upcoming film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins have both landed the lead roles in John Carter of Mars.
Kitsch will portray the title character, a Civil War veteran who somehow gets transported to Mars and finds himself between a war on the dying planet and Collins will portray Dejah Thoris, the heir to the throne of Mars' Hellium Kingdom.
Both Kitsch and Collins were seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine last. Andrew Stanton is directing for Pixar, from a script he wrote with Mark Andrews. We reported earlier today that the film would go into production this November in Utah.

Jackman's Mean Prank On Co-star

Lynn Collins is wary of working with Hugh Jackman after he played a saucy prank on the set of X-men Origins: Wolverine.
Aussie actor Jackman was determined to embarrass Collins, so he tricked her into wearing a skintight outfit in front of the cast and crew.
But Jackman is proud of the stunt - and thinks it was such a success, movie fans would pay to see it.
Collins says, "We were on this location and Hugh came up to me and said, 'You know, we've seen some of the dailies and we just think that your outfit needs to be skimpier.' He was like, 'So, we found something for you. We put it in your trailer. Can you please try it on?'
"There was a gaggle of men and so I go into my trailer and there is a silver spandex dress, and I had this panic attack. I was like, 'Oh, my God, they're all standing in front of the trailer, so I have to put it on.' I put it on and it didn't fit. It was so tight, it was horrible and highly embarrassing. I opened the door and everybody was cracking up, and Hugh was like, 'April Fool's.'"
But Jackman insists the practical joke would be a good money-spinner: "I love that you put it on and didn't slap me in the face. If we put that on the DVD extras, sales would go through the roof".

Lynn Collins on coping with the macho men in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

ONE person who hasn't featured hugely in the publicity for Hugh Jackman's X-Men Origins: Wolverine is actress Lynn Collins, who plays love interest Kayla Silverfox.
Texas-born Collins, 29, delivers a solid and heartfelt performance - and shows off her natural beauty - as Wolverine's lover, who is of native American heritage and may well have a hidden mutant ability of her own.
Collins, who entered New York's prestigious Juilliard School to study acting at 17, told GQ it had been a strange experience being among a virtually all-male cast.
She said: "I had to play off all the guys and their testosterone-heavy abilities. But I learned that the female powers of persuasion easily trump fangs and knives and guns."
Jackman had told MSNBC: "Lynn fills a role that was so vital to this movie. Anyone who knows acting and knows film structure, you'll know that what Lynn had to pull off in the film was probably one of the most difficult things to do. She did an amazing job and I was really, really proud of what she did."
Collins had earlier told of how the role allowed her to embrace her own native American roots.

'Wolverine' Interviews with Lynn Collins and Will.I.Am

We've got a little more video from the X-Men Origins: Wolverine premiere. You don't get a lot of time with the actors when they're walking the red carpet and stuff, and in this case, because there was not only a lot of local media to oblige as well as thousands of fans that Hugh Jackman and everyone else wanted to spend some time with, our available time with each cast member was pretty brief.
But we did manage to corral Lynn Collins, who plays Wolverine's love interest, Kayla Silverfox. Over the weekend, it was reported that there are multiple endings to the film, so we thought we'd address that subject with her:

Now the phrase "multiple endings" isn't exactly accurate; the film won't have different conclusions to Wolverine's story. What you can expect is different Easter eggs planted in the closing credits of the movie. The one I saw looked pretty important, though.
We also tracked down the very personable Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas, who is kinda sorta making his film debut in Wolverine. He was a voice in last year's Madagascar movie, but in terms of being on the set everyday and interacting with the other cast members, this is a first for him.

Lynn Collins On Being The Silver Fox To Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine In ‘X-Men: Origins’

Actress Lynn Collins recently told MTV News that playing Marvel mutant Silver Fox in the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” not only allowed her to embrace her Native American roots, but also brought her very close to star Hugh Jackman.
Actress Lynn Collins recently told MTV News that playing Marvel mutant Silver Fox in the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” not only allowed her to embrace her Native American roots, but also brought her very close to star Hugh Jackman.
“We’re lovers,” said Collins of her character’s relationship to Wolverine.
In Marvel Comics history, Silver Fox was a former love of Wolverine, and the pair lived together in the Canadian wilderness during the late-1900s before a series of tragic events (and crossed paths with other Marvel mutants) pushed their lives in dramatically different directions. Thus far, “X-Men Origins” seems to be based closely on that chapter in the comics history of Marvel’s favorite Canucklehead, with many of the characters who play significant roles in the print series’ over-arching story already cast in the film.
As for how she prepared for the role of Silver Fox, Collins said her male counterparts had a far rougher time of it when it came to getting into character.
“They were all on super-buff diets, and I had pizza most of the time,” said Collins. “They were so jealous of me.”
“I didn’t have to beef up in this movie,” she added. “I just had to wear skimpy clothes.”

It's Official: 6 More Added to the Cast of X-Men Origins: Wolverine Movie

Wolverine may be the X-Men's resident loner, but that doesn't mean he won't be bringing a whole lot of company with him when his solo movie debuts on May 1, 2009!
Twentieth Century Fox has officially announced six of Hugh Jackman's co-stars, including Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Gambit, as played by "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch!
What, you want even more? Well how about Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am as John Wraith, Danny Huston as Col. William Stryker and Lynn Collins as Kayla Silver Fox? Add in Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth and you've got a movie that even the big screen will have trouble holding in!
If you need a quick refresher, below are some glimpses at what all the characters look like in various comic book incarnations, but expect things to be a bit different come next year.
So sit down and buckle up, Marvelite, because the ride's just beginning—and you ain't seen nothing yet!

Dominic Monaghan is Beak, aka Blackwing

Just Jared reports that former "Lost" star Dominic Monaghan will play Barnell Bohusk (AKA Beak) in 20th Century Fox's X-Men: Wolverine.
Here's a description of the character:
Beak was a mutant whose bones were light and hollow. His arms had begun to grow feathers, which when fully formed, may have allowed him to fly. He could at the mean time glide and fly for short distances with great effort. Beak also had enhanced eyesight along with talons on his hands and feet. Even though Beak had bird-like qualities, it was extremely difficult for him to fly.

According to Wiki, Barnell’s body changes into that of a humanoid-bird form, with a beaked face, bulbous eyes, wing-like arms that give him the ability to fly (albeit clumsily), talons on his hands and feet, and double-jointed knees. In mutant form, Beak also possesses heightened agility, and he may possess heightened senses and a lighter skeletal structure like the avian X-Man formerly known as the Angel (Ben Foster played this character in X3).

Taylor Kitsch is Gambit in Wolverine!

Scooper 'Chaos Bringer' has revealed on Superhero Hype!'s message boards that "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch will play Gambit (AKA Remy LeBeau) in director Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal.
He'll be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the 20th Century Fox release, opening May 1, 2009.
Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

New Wolverine Set Photos

We've received two new photos of sets for X-Men Origins: Wolverine in New Zealand. The first is a photo of the old Milburn cement works at Burnside, Dunedin, and the second is a barn that was constructed at Arcadia Station east of Glenorchy.
Following those two are photos snapped off-set of Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) (with personal trainer Michael Ryan, in light blue polo shirt), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) (with girlfriend/actress Naomi Watts) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) (with boyfriend/actor Steven Strait).

More X-Men Origins: Wolverine Updates!

In addition to the news that Danny Huston is playing William Stryker in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, we received some more interesting bits on Friday.
First up, and this part gets spoilerish, comes news from FilmSchoolRejects.com that we might be seeing The Blob in the film:
We got a note from someone who was on set this week while they shot test footage of an actor in a huge rubber suit for The Blob. The interesting part is that they made the suit to look like The Blob was about 800lbs, but producers want to make him bigger, something like 1200lbs. I did some research (as I am not too familiar with The Blob's history) and I found that he was around 500lbs. originally.
Also, IESB is now saying that the role of Silver Fox has not gone to Maggie Q or Michelle Monaghan. Instead, expect fellow Texan Lynn Collins in the role.
