32nd Carry On film is go

From: The Register.
By Lester Haines

Fans of the splendidly silly Carry On franchise will be delighted to learn that the 32nd film in the series - tentatively dubbed Carry On London - "could be in cinemas by the end of the year", according to the Beeb.

The film will centre on a limo company ferrying celebrities to the Herberts - the Brit equivalent of the Oscars - although who'll be behind the wheel won't be revealed until casting details are firmed up. Vinnie Jones, Shane Ritchie and Daniella Westbrook have all been linked with the project, the BBC notes, and a spokeswoman for the film hinted at possible celeb involvement, teasing: "We will be having some cameo appearances in the film."

The project has been a long time in gestation. It was first planned back in 2003, with EastEnders star Shaun Williamson signed up to play chauffeur Dickie Ticker. He pulled out in 2004 after producer James Black was replaced, and the production schedule knocked back.

Now, though, a final script with a "fun storyline" has been signed off, according to the spokeswoman, and the merriment can commence.

The makers are hoping to get Carry On London into cinemas by the end of this year to coincide with the 50th Carry On anniversary, although this is dependant on when production actually starts. ®

Love It Or Hate It, There's Another LIBRARIAN TV Movie Coming!! Bruce Davison Is Everywhere!!

From: Ain'tItCool.com

It's called THE LIBRARIAN: THE CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE.

Noah Wyle, Bob Newhart, and Jane Curtin will return, as will director Jonathan Frakes - who directed the second installment in the franchise. [...]

Bruce Davison will join the cast; damn he's been in a lot of genre stuff lately (X-MEN, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, LOST, the recent KNIGHT RIDER TV movie, and TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES for example).

I like the idea of the LIBRARIAN films, but found their execution diverting-but-forgettable. I'm assuming we'll get more of the same this time around.

CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE will again appear on TNT.

Cumming of Age

From: The New York Observer.
By: Gillian Reagan.

Alan Cumming was excited to play a “real man” in the Classic Stage Company’s production of Chekov’s The Seagull. Mr. Cumming, the Tony Award-winning Scot with saucer-size blue eyes and a sly grin, recently played Dorothy’s scarecrow Glitch in the TV miniseries Tin Man and, um, a spacey scientist called Fegan Floop in those Spy Kids movies. (He also had a delightfully sleazy role as a gay nightlife impresario on The L Word.) But in The Seagull, he appears as Trigorin, a broody famous writer who woos Dianne Wiest’s character Arkadina and seduces a budding actress (played by Kelli Garner). “He just seems like a real man,” Mr. Cumming said over the phone, walking to Prana Power Yoga for his regular stretch after a recent play rehearsal. “He’s got everything, but he wants to destroy it. I’ve never played anyone like him.”

Mr. Cumming decided to take the part last year when the writers’ strike loomed and his agent was pushing him to sign movie projects. “All the films I was looking at, I was like, iiillck,” he said. Plus, Mr. Cumming, 43, had longed to appear in Chekov’s study of impossible love and creative torture—though he hoped to play the much younger, avant-garde playwright Konstantin (that role went, appropriately, to Ryan O’Nan). “The years have gone by and I missed my chance,” sighed Mr. Cumming.

The Seagull plays at Classic Stage Company, 136 East 13th Street, Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. For tickets, visit www.classicstage.org

Dominic Monaghan’s Beak Brunch

From: JustJared.com

Dominic Monaghan grabs a quick brunch at Erewhon Natural Food Market in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

An exhibition of his photographs titled “Happy Accidents” opens this Friday in West Hollywood. It features pictures of his co-stars from Lost and Lord of the Rings.

Dominic, 31, was most recently in Australia filming scenes as Barnell Bohusk, aka Beak/Blackwing, in the new Wolverine movie.

Hmm, who’s the blonde chick covering her face? She’s sitting in the red MINI Cooper that Dominic’s about to get into…

'Wolverine' to duke it out...in the World Series of Poker?

From:

It appears Logan may be cutting 'em down at the card tables in the upcoming 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' movie, with poker superstars Phil Helmuth and Daniel Negreanu were slated for a cameo in the film.
A Toronto reader named Ian gives us this scoop:

I was listening to 102.1 The Edge (an alternative radio station in Toronto) and they had poker player Phil Helmuth on a special guest. They started talking a bit about homegrown poker great Daniel Negreanu and Phil revealed some interesting news. Apparently the two of them were offered a chance to appear in the 'Wolverine' movie in Sydney! Phil had other commitments, but Daniel accepted. Supposedly they were to be featured in a poker game with Logan which is then interrupted by an unknown antagonist.

The info was confirmed last week in Helmuth's blog. Writes the poker champ:

I was planning on flying to L. A. on Saturday for the WPT Celebrity Invitational, but I slept until 3:30. I was even still considering flying all the way to Sydney, Australia on Saturday night to do a cameo in the movie "Wolverine." Daniel Negreanu was leaving LAX Saturday night at around 10:00 pm, and I loved the idea of joining him. I was told that we were wanted for a key scene, even though we may only have received a few seconds of screen time, and not much money for the deal. So what? Of all of the poker players that were invited, Daniel and I both wanted to go!! I mean: how cool is that? I'm surprised that the other poker players didn't want to do it, but the travel was severe, the money not much, and the advance notice not more than a few days. I would have gone, but I committed to do an event for Ultimatebet.com in Toronto on the eighth called the Cross Canada Tour, and they needed me on set through the evening of the eighth. Oh well, I hope Daniel represents for the poker world!

Rebecca Romijn is a Total Bebe

From: via Egotastic!

She's hot, having been a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, she's funny, and she was in X-Men. What more do you need? Still, she was married to John Stamos for a while, but nobody's perfect. And while I'd rather see her wearing a swimsuit, or nothing at all, like she did in Femme Fatale, these Bebe ads are pretty sexy, so I'm good for now.

Perving on Hugh saves lives

Thanks to TygerX for the tip!
From:

WITH his rippling biceps, hirsute facial features and that leading man swagger, there's a lot to like about Hugh Jackman these days.

But perving on the box office star allegedly saved the lives of three star-struck women yesterday, who escaped injury in a near-miss car accident.

All by a Wolverine whisker.

Self-confessed "lover of Sydney Confidential" Virginia Kim survived to tell her harrowing celebrity tale, when the car she was travelling to work in slowed to check out the Aussie actor having breakfast at Bills restaurant, Darlinghurst.

"He was kind enough to perch himself at the window table, looking very early morning scruffy but still very lush," Kim said in an emotional email.

"As we drove past the window (for the third consecutive time), we slowed the car to an absolute crawl and came to a very early stop at the traffic light," Kim wrote in the email.

"Two seconds later, a crazy out-of-control car came out of nowhere and crossed on to the wrong side of the road. Had we stopped where we were supposed to, it would have been a head-on collision."

The Sydney publicist and her two colleagues were shaken by the incident, but the drama merely confirmed their interest in the star.

"Hugh Jackman's good looks and our incapacity to take our eyes away literally saved our lives," she gushed. "He's the office hero."

Confidential attempted to speak to the Man Of The Moment, but a spokeswoman for Jackman said the star was unavailable for comment.

Probably busy delivering puppies or helping little old ladies across the street, we would guess.

Zak Penn Exclusive Video Interview – THE GRAND

From: Collider.

I've just taken the parts regarding X-Men:

While many people reading this know exactly who Zak is, allow me to offer a very fast recap. Zak is very famous in the comic book world as he’s the one who wrote “X2,” “Electra,” “Fantastic Four,” “X-Men: The Last Stand,” and “The Incredible Hulk.” (Apparently Edward Norton did a “polish” on it….) So when you get the opportunity to talk with Zak…of course you’re going to ask about comic book things.

Anyway, during my very long interview with Zak (hence why it’s divided up) we talked about everything. What you’ll notice during the second part is I asked a bunch of questions in almost a bullet style. Watch…I think you’ll like it.

An Apple A Day

From: Flynetonline.

Keeps the 'Sabretooth' away.

Check out actor Hugh Jackman munching some fruit today on the set of his upcoming nerd-flick, 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine,' which is currently in production in Sydney, Australia.

Jackman is reprising the highly popular 'Wolverine' character and the new film is a prequel to the 3 pre-existing 'X-Men' films. The movie also co-stars Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schrieber, Dominic Monaghan and Will.I.Am.I'm excited.
