Liev Schreiber says Sabretooth is the most brutal character he has ever played.

While promoting war drama Defiance, Liev Schreiber spoke to Scifi.com about his role as Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

“I found it to be really intense,” Schreiber said in a group interview on Dec. 7 in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he was promoting Defiance. “The character I play is incredibly brutal and feral and has a bloodlust unlike any other character I’ve ever played. This guy is a real killer.”

“Just to do [a] fight scene with Hugh was really terrific because as a dancer, he has that kind of discipline and choreography,” Schreiber said. “I always studied to be a fight choreographer and wanted to be a dancer, too, but didn’t quite have the feet for it. We have some remarkable fight scenes together, and I’m looking forward to people seeing those.”

As a fan of the comic books, Schreiber vouched for the upcoming film’s interpretation. “I was a fan of the comic books,” he said. “I just loved the character of Wolverine. I always have. That sort of deeply ironic and very urban sensibility on a superhero was something that I thought was really groundbreaking, the style of writing, particularly the very sort of editorial style. I just always loved it, and I think that we were able to capture some of that darkness in this movie, so I’m very proud.”

We should be seeing some new footage of Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth when the X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer arrives on Friday.

Jones Defends Bar Brawl

Hollywood tough guy Vinnie Jones is adamant he only fought in a recent bar brawl to defend himself after an attacker tried to blind him with glass.

The soccer star-turned-actor was arrested and booked for misdemeanour simple assault last week after finding himself at the centre of a fight at Wiley's Tavern in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The star was so badly hurt in the showdown he had to be admitted to hospital, where he needed 48 stitches across his nose and face.

And Jones insists he was stunned by the unprovoked attack - because it happened while he was taking pictures with fans.

He says, "I was in South Dakota with a crowd of mates for a pheasant shoot. We stopped off for a few beers and didn.t think anything of it. I arrived at the boozer (bar) and was signing autographs and doing pictures.

"We were having a laugh with a group of lads at the pool table, whose girlfriends I was doing pictures for. They started having a joke about my films. The next thing I knew I was on the ground with a glass in my face.

"It was over in seconds. The blood was pouring out. The attack came from nowhere. I was stunned by it. All the way through it, someone was shouting, .Knife!'"

In the bar's CCTV footage, a bloodied Jones can be seen heading to the restroom when he confronts fellow patron Juan Barrera, 24, in a corridor and begins punching him. Barrera then attempts to pick Jones up and throw him.

But the British star has accused Barrera and his friends of instigating the incident, and defended his own actions by declaring: "The fact is: Someone tried to blind me. Would you not be p**sed off if someone tried to blind you for life?"

The Wolverine section also includes buttons for the trailer, website and a widget. However it's only the website button that's functional and it brings you to the X3 website.
However this does raise hopes that an official site won't be to far behind, as well as the official trailer for the film

Cumming Will Miss Movie Premiere To Watch Obama Sworn In

Gay actor Alan Cumming will miss the chance to unveil his latest movie at January's Sundance Film Festival, so he can attend 'gay-friendly' Barack Obama's inauguration as U.S. President.

The week-long Utah movie bash next month - where his film Dare will premiere - clashes with Obama's swearing in, which will take place in Washington, D.C. on 20 January.

And Cumming had no hesitation choosing where he will be, despite the fact he's not an American citizen and couldn't vote in the presidential election.

He tells the New York Post, "(Obama is) someone who I believe will make America a place where gay people will be respected and given true equality."

As shooting has now wrapped, the first pics from Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, the roller derby comedy Whip It.

Starring the likes of Ellen Page, Death Proof’s Zoe Bell Juliet Lewis, Marcia Gay Harden and Alia Shawkat (from Arrested Development), Whip It finds Page as indie-music fan Bliss Cavender, who discovers her true calling as a member of a women’s derby team.

The pics aren’t heavy on plot, but they do offer a glimpse at some of the wacky costumes the cast squeeze into during the pic.

Kelsey Grammer Wants to Live Forever, Learn How to Fly

It didn't dawn on me while watching his recent Dr. Pepper commercial, but after this bit of new I have to wonder: Did Kelsey Grammer not take care of his money? I mean, playing Frasier Crane on Cheers made him a wealthy man, but playing that character for another dozen years or whatever it was on Frasier made him obscenely rich. So why in the name of David Hyde-Pierce is he joining the cast of the Fame remake?

Grammer will join Megan Mullally, Charles S. Dutton, Bebe Neuwirth, and Debbie Allen in the cast, and of course, Neuwirth spent 20 years popping up as Frasier's bitter half, Lilith. They'll all play teachers and school administrators in the remake, which has already begun filming and will be released on September 25th, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Said MGM's Mary Parent in carefully chosen words that were likely first strung together by someone in the studio's marketing department, "This picture is a celebration, a testament to people pursuing their dreams, so we set out to find talented actors who could both convincingly instruct onscreen and also inspire audiences."

Now, as such things go, all five of those actors have plenty of training for the stage, with some Julliard, Yale, and American School of Ballet thrown in among a couple of Tony Awards, so it's actually good casting when you think about it.

Remakes are a pretty hot topic, and it seems like whenever we talk about one, the common response is that there's no originality in Hollywood. That's patently untrue. But originality doesn't always sell, and if you want original so badly, stop giving half a billion dollars to Batman movies. I don't care one way or the other about a Fame remake. The original film was neither too good nor too bad for a remake. It's completely harmless. Even if they made an "original" movie about the same thing, it would basically be Fame anyway, so what's the difference?

Still, you'd think Grammer would be content just sitting on the beach in Maui.

Knight Rider Ends Season Early

TV bosses have sparked reports that the update of hit 1980s show Knight Rider is on the verge of cancellation - after ending the series mid-season.

The show, which originally starred David Hasselhoff, did not feature the actor in its new version - despite his claims he came up with the idea of the show's TV comeback.

In a mid-season announcement, the cast and crew of the NBC show were informed the season finale will air on 25 February 2009.

The announcement comes on the heels of an attempt by TV bosses to keep costs down by axing actors Sydney Tamila Poitier and Bruce Davison.

The series was picked up for a full season in October.

Hasselhoff is replaced by actor Justin Bruening in the remake.

Once together, they are forced to sort out their past and escape a dangerous situation in the present.

The Fanboys cast features Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel and Kristen Bell as the leads playing the group of friends. There are also plenty of stars making cameos throughout the film. Some of the notable guest appearances include William Shatner, Kevin Smith, Seth Rogan, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and my personal favorite; Ray Park.

Rob Zombie to Direct Halloween Sequel?

Right when Rob Zombie was trying to get out, they pull him back in. Possibly.

Last September, Zombie told Entertainment Weekly that he was not going to be involved with any Halloween sequels. Instead, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury were supposed to direct the sequel, but, like the Hellraiser remake the French duo dropped out of, they dropped out of Halloween in November as well, opening the director's chair for anyone who wanted it.

Now, according to ShockTilYouDrop, it appears as though Zombie will return to direct Tyler Mane as Michael Myers in the sequel. The move would end a director search and put the film back on track to start shooting in March. Zombie was working on his Tyrannosaurus Rex movie, which would be made after the Halloween sequel, though Zombie has yet to confirm or deny the rumor.

A bigger question is, should they make a sequel at all? Tell us what you think!

HBO Announces True Blood Season 1 DVD

HBO has unveiled its DVD plans for the surprisingly good series True Blood. The entire first season, which recently wrapped until season two kicks off next summer, will street on May 12th. Expect a widescreen (16:9) transfer with Dolby Surround Stereo sound. All twelve episodes will be collected on five discs. Currently, HBO's shop has it listed with a price tag of $59.99.

Starring Anna Paquin, the series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) walks into her place of employment two years after vampires "came out of the coffin" on national television.

ITV previews new Prisoner series, Primeval, Law & Order London

Britian's ITV has a showreel for their upcoming season, with new content of interest for fans:

• The first video clips I've seen for the remake of The Prisoner, starring James Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ) as Number Six and Ian McKellen (X-Men, Lord Of The Rings) as Number Two. You can read more at AMC's Prisoner production blog, with many entries by Sir Ian himself.
• Law & Order: London, starring Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) in the traditional younger detective role and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Survivors) in the traditional female DA role. Character names? It's Law & Order, you know the roles. Although seeing DAs in wigs is a bit weird. At least they kept the "da-dum" sound.
• Clips for season 3 of Primeval.
• A new series called Whitechapel that, as far as I can tell, has nothing to do with Warren Ellis. Unless he's trying to recreate the Jack the Ripper killings for fun and profit. Which, come to think of it, Warren might do.

And for the obligatory comics connection, they keep using the soundtrack for The Dark Knight over clips. You'd think that soundtrack won an Oscar or someth-- oops, sorry. Sore subject?
