Hugh Jackman to Son: Don't Use Me to Get Girls
Written by: Paul Chi
Hugh Jackman has reached a milestone in his relationship with his eight-year old son Oscar: They've discussed the birds and the bees.
"He asks questions about it all the time so we had a father and son talk," Jackman told PEOPLE at a charity boxing match benefiting The East Harlem School at Exodus House in New York City Wednesday. "He knows about it but we haven't got into the intimate details."
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star, 40, admits he wasn't uncomfortable during the conversation. "It's not awkward," he said. In fact, it was welcome: "My dad never ever did it with me so I was very adamant that I was going to do it with my son."
PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive says his best advice is to value the opposite sex. "You just got to respect girls," he told his son. "But he goes, 'Dad are they hot, though?' That's what he always wants to know."
And what's one thing to avoid? "I try to tell him that he not use me to get to them," he said with a laugh.
Expanding the family?
With rumors circulating that he and wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, are in the process of giving Oscar and Ava, 3, a new sibling by adopting another child, Jackman confirms to PEOPLE that is false. "No, I'm not. It's rumors but we sometimes think about it," he said.
However, traveling with two children reminds him that a family of four is plenty. "Every time we get on a plane it's like the best contraception I know," he jokingly said. "So I think two kids is enough."
Cute Costar
Now that he's conquered the box office with Wolverine, Jackman is set to star in the 19th-century drama Unbound Captives with Twilight's Robert Pattinson. "He's a really great actor and a really good guy," said Jackman. "His role is phenomenal and it's going to be really amazing stuff."
And what does he think about Pattinson's famous hair? "I'm not an aficionado of hair, but his looks great."

Jackman's som embarrasses dad at Knicks game
HUGH JACKMAN's nine-year-old son embarrassed the movie hunk at a basketball game - again - by rooting for the wrong team.
The actor was invited to take little Oscar to a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden after revealing the youngster had ruined a trip to see the Los Angeles Lakers late last year (08) - by spilling candy all over the court.
But the star's latest attempt to get his son into basketball left Jackman red faced - because his son was more interested in the visiting Denver Nuggets.
The Aussie says, "We were courtside... and he was sort of into it. He said, 'Dad, who's everyone going for?' And I said, 'Well, we're in New York... Everyone traditionally will go for New York.' He goes, 'Right, go Nuggets, go the Nuggets.'
"They scored and won the game... and we were given a whole load of swag by the Knicks to kind of shut him up... He had the (Knicks) hat in his hand and every time the Knicks scored, he's like, 'No, I hate Knicks (banging it on the floor).'"
And, despite all the free stuff little Oscar was given by the Knicks' marketing bosses, the biggest prize of the night came at the end of the game - from Nuggets star J.R. Smith.
Jackman explains, "He came over at the end and took his shirt off... and gave it to Oscar. That's how big a fan he was.
"It came down to his ankles, like a dress (and) he wore that home... I thought we were going to get beaten up."

Superhero dater Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman wanted Wolverine's mind-reading powers when he was dating.
The actor - who plays the mutant anti-hero in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' - says knowing what the opposite sex was thinking would have saved him a lot of time and effort.
Speaking about his alter-ego's animal instincts, Hugh - who has been happily married to wife Deborra since 1996 - said: "I don't think the claws would be my ultimate power. Walking through walls would be good but telepathy would be the one. It would be very handy in cutting down on the dating process. You would be in and out of a bar in five minutes because it would only take that long to weigh up your options."

Hugh Jackman's Son, 8, Loves Pointing Out "Hot Chicks"
Hugh Jackman's eight-year-old son loves pointing out "hot chicks." The "X Men Origins: Wolverine" actor - who raises Oscar and three-year-old Ava with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness - can't decide whether to be embarrassed or impressed when Oscar shows him attractive girls when they are out.
Hugh said: "My son is already scoping the crowd for chicks. It's unbelievable. The other day he said to me, 'Dad, two o'clock. Hot chick.' I'm like, 'What?' He goes, 'They're hot aren't they?' I go, 'They're about fourteen.' They're fourteen by the way. He's eight. And so part of me is going, 'Yeah, go on son,' and part of me is like, 'Oscar they're fourteen, I can't comment on whether they're hot or not.'"
Hugh - who was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday - also revealed Oscar only shows interest in his movie career when he wants to speak to a girl.
The 40-year-old actor explained to U.S. talk show host Jay Leno: "He walks on over to them, I swear, he walks over and I could hear him, he goes, 'Hi, how are you? I just want you to know my dad is Wolverine.' He doesn't normally talk to me about Wolverine at all, it's a funny thing, he's normally quiet about it."

Jackman's Son Cut Out Of Australia
Hugh Jackman's adopted son Oscar's big film debut has been left on the cutting room floor.
The movie star admits he "gave in" to the eight year old's demands to be a part of dad's new movie Australia, but his scenes have been cut.
Jackman says, "I finally relented and I said, 'Alright mate, you can be in the movie,' and there's this one scene that he's in that took four days to shoot... and he got paid for it.
"I saw the film for the first time not long ago (and) he's not even in it. He got cut.
"There's a huge wide shot and I'm all prepared (to say), 'Oh, there you are! Aw, baby, you were great."
Jackman is convinced his son will never want to act in another movie: "After four days, he came up to me and goes, 'Dad, you have the most boring job in the world. I never wanna do it again.'"

How Hugh said no to soap on a rope
Hugh Jackman thanks his lucky stars he never took a job on Neighbours 15 years ago. "It would have been detrimental to my career as an actor," Jackman admitted to PS yesterday, fresh from the hair and make-up chair on the set of his new action sci-fi thriller Wolverine.
Jackman hosted the 21st birthday party last night for the Actors Centre Australia in Surry Hills, one of the few self-funded acting schools in the country. "After I studied communications and listened to my journalism teacher, Wendy Bacon, talk about doing death knocks I was somewhat disillusioned about becoming a reporter … I had always thought about acting … I auditioned for ACA and got in, but it was going to cost me $3500, which I didn't have … but my grandmother had just passed away and left me the exact amount of $3500 … I took it as a sign from Nan."
These days Jackman commands multimillion-dollar pay cheques, but admits that studying for one year at the actors centre "ignited the passion for acting" within him. Jackman was offered a role on Neighbours after graduation in 1992 , but opted to continue studying his craft at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth.
"While I would have learned a lot about handling press and camera technique on Neighbours,
I kept asking myself would it help me audition for the Royal Shakespeare Company or the STC … and I had to admit it probably wouldn't."
Jackman said he and his family, fellow thespian and wife Deborra-Lee Furness and kids Oscar and Aida, will happily remain in Sydney until the end of the year, with work on Baz Luhrmann's epic Australia continuing for some time before its release in November.
"I have never seen such dedication and so much attention to detail working a film. It has been the best experience of my acting life so far," said Jackman, who plays Nicole Kidman's cattle-droving love interest.
As for Kidman: "She's a phenomenal actress … kissing her was the easiest part."

Jackman back to the Big Apple
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness are planning to move the family to New York after X-Men Origins: Wolverine wraps in June.
We've loved having the A-listers home and their class and down-to-earth attitude will be sorely missed. Australia's loss is America's gain.
Last week Furness jumped on a plane with seven-year-old Oscar to spend two weeks in the Big Apple looking for schools.
She told S that it is a difficult process over there, with IQ tests for her son and gruelling rounds of interviews for the parents.
Somewhat unlike Sydney, where Oscar chose his school because it had a great art department and the chicks were cute (sounds like Oscar is developing his dad's way with the ladies).
Furness said that, though she will miss Sydney, a big part of her heart is in New York and she's excited about going back to see her girlfriends and visiting her old stomping grounds.
Jackman is halfway through shooting the latest Wolverine flick and is really enjoying his fourth time putting the claws on.
But even superheroes can't beat a dodgy prawn: Jackman got a mild case of food poisoning which halted film production for a day. The film is due to wrap in June but Jackman might stay a little longer for Australian publicity commitments.
We'll take every day we can get!

Little let-up for Hugh
Hugh Jackman is sharpening his claws for his next action flick, with the actor shifting to New Zealand to film Wolverine.
Jackman, who enjoyed three weeks' holiday with his wife Deborra-lee Furness and kids Oscar and Ava, will reprise his role as the hairy action hero from the X-Men films.
The spin-off film, which is officially tagged X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is in pre-production in New Zealand. Jackman, who had only a brief break between the end of filming Australia and the start of Wolverine, said he didn't mind having a short holiday.
"Most people get four weeks in a year so I don't think anybody will be crying for me," Jackman says. "I'm compartmentalising it in a different way - I'll just work on that [Wolverine] and then I'll take a bit of time off after that."
The involvement of actor Liev Schreiber in the film has prompted rumours Naomi Watts might return to the southern hemisphere with her young son Alexander to accompany Schreiber on set.
Speculation is also rife young Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee (who appeared opposite Eric Bana in Romulus, My Father) has scored a key role in the film, which will be a major Hollywood breakthrough for the child star.
Wolverine will be on location in New Zealand for at least four months. The film is due for release next year.
