Superbowl Movie Trailers Revealed!

From: Cinematical.com

Unlike last year's poor showing, the Hollywood studios are bringing out the big guns for this year's Superbowl. What that means is our first look at Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, as it seems Paramount will be holding out for that Superbowl launch. Other much-anticipated trailers arriving that Sunday include G.I. Joe, Angels and Demons, Monsters vs. Aliens(the 3-D version, which requires special glasses, will air at the end of the second quarter), Land of the Lost and Fast and Furious, with spots for Pixar's Up and X-Men Origins: Wolverine also likely. Damn.

Last year I believe a couple trailers leaked prior the the big game, but all of them were available online immediately afterwards. No word on whether any of these trailers will arrive online beforehand to soak up a little internet spotlight before having to share the main stage on Superbowl Sunday. Additionally, according to Variety, some studios -- like Warner Brothers, Fox and Disney -- still haven't bought air time, but may wait until the last minute to snag a spot at a lower price. Warners, for example, has Watchmen, Terminator: Salvation and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on the agenda, and we'd be surprised if none of those snuck in a little game day treat.

Which trailer are you most excited to see?

Marvel Unveils Wolverine Action Figure

Though we continue to wait on an official poster for X-Men Origins: Wolverine -- which is dragging ass behind the trailer -- Marvel has already got an action figure worth checking out.

Action Figure: X-Men Origins: WolverineFrom: Canmag.com

I don't know if it's the plastic gunshow, the shapely crotch, or the perfectly tailored jeans, but there is something extremely accurate about this first action figure for Wolverine. If anybody can tell me what body-forming jeans Logan is wearing, I would love a pair. Click on the image for a larger size.

Romijn + O'Connell Welcome Twin Girls

From: Imdb.com

Hollywood couple Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell are celebrating after the Ugly Betty star gave birth to twin girls on Monday morning.

The baby news was broken by the couple's close pal, U.S. DJ Howard Stern, on his Sirius radio show on Monday, and Romijn's publicist Lewis Kay has confirmed the news to People.com.

Kay says, "Mother, father and both girls are all home and doing well."

Romijn, who was previously married to E.R. actor John Stamos, wed O'Connell in 2007 and the baby girls, named Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, are the couple's first children together.

And funnyman O'Connell has already revealed plans to be a strict parent to his kids, recently joking, "Just the fact that they're girls, you know? I don't want them to date. They're only allowed to date men who run countries. They're only allowed to date men who are heir to the throne or are currently running a nation."

Jackman Works Hard For Body

From: Imdb.com

Hugh Jackman keeps to a strict diet of protein and vegetables and exercises six times a week in a bid to maintain his muscular physique.

The Australia star, who was voted People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in November, works hard to keep himself fit - and restricts his food intake to ensure he keeps his body in shape.

Jackman says, "I get up at 4am and eat egg whites, then every three hours after that. I have a combination of protein or steamed vegetables and brown rice. Then after midday, no rice or carbohydrates. It's just vegetables and meat or fish.

"I'm not going to live this way for the rest of my life. I do have treats, I love dark chocolate, beer and red wine. I love going out for dinner and do cheat sometimes."

And the star is just as tough with his exercise regime as he is with his diet.

He adds, "I train for an hour and a half a day, five days a week - weights, treadmill, rowing, everything. Then I do what my trainer calls 'a play session' on the sixth, which previously would have killed me in itself."

Wolverine and the X-Men Premieres on Jan. 23

From: SuperHeroHype.com

Nicktoons Network has announced that "Wolverine and the X-Men" will premiere on January 23:

Nicktoons Network, the fastest growing kids' network, introduces Wolverine and the X-Men, the new action-packed animated series based on Marvel's ever popular Super Heroes. Produced by Marvel Animation, the new 26-episode, half-hour series follows Wolverine as he reunites the X-Men in an attempt to save the world. The adventure begins with two back-to-back episodes Friday, Jan. 23, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. (ET). The new series builds on Marvel's rich storylines from the comic book pages and big screen, and will air regularly Fridays at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on Nicktoons Network.

As the newest installation in the franchise, Wolverine and the X-Men continues Marvel's tradition of epic storytelling. This new animated series focuses on the most popular and well-known X-Men -- Wolverine -- and celebrates the unique qualities of the X-Universe: the action, the iconic characters and the storylines.

"Our audience craves action and adventure, so bringing Wolverine and the X-Men to Nicktoons Network was a natural fit," said Keith Dawkins, Nicktoons Network General Manager, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon Programming Partnerships. "The folks at Marvel are master storytellers, which is why the X-Men franchise has been so hugely successful. We expect this next chapter to really resonate with our audience."

In the premiere episode, "Hindsight, Part 1", it is a year after a mysterious explosion destroyed the Xavier Institute and broke up the weary X-Men. An embittered Wolverine has lost himself on the open road, haunted by the unexplained fate of the missing Professor X and Jean Grey. But his efforts to keep a low profile end when he's brought back into the crosshairs of the Mutant Response Division (MRD) after rescuing a family. Wolverine infiltrates the MRD to liberate the innocent family who was captured for defending him, as well as a dozen captured mutants. Wolverine knows more trouble is on the way, and realizes he needs to enlist the help of the X-Men.

In the second episode, "Hindsight, Part 2", the villains from the Brotherhood fuel the mutant hysteria as Sen. Kelly tries to gather support for his Mutant Registration Act. Meanwhile, Wolverine is finding it difficult to get the X-Men back together. Most of the team is still unaccounted for, and those that Wolverine can find refuse to join the new team. The disillusioned Rogue has even taken up with the Brotherhood. But when the Brotherhood plans to go after Sen. Kelly at a press conference, the conflicted Rogue must decide where her loyalties lie.

In the late 20th century, mankind began to change. Suddenly, teenagers developed unthinkable abilities that science classified as the next stage in human evolution. In response, Professor Charles Xavier created a School for Gifted Youngsters so the young 'mutants' could learn to control their uncanny abilities and live in harmony with the non-mutant members of society. From then on, Xavier's students -- the X-Men -- intervened to protect the peace until a mysterious explosion devastated Xavier's school. Leaderless and without direction, the X-Men disbanded and the man known as Wolverine struck out on his own.

One year later, the once fiercely independent Wolverine must reunite the X-Men to prevent a horrible vision of the future where the X-Men gave up on Xavier's mission and the world fell into chaos. With great tragedy in their past and their future, Wolverine must lead Xavier's disillusioned students against the forces of fate and destiny. Perhaps together Wolverine and the X-Men can steer the course of history away from catastrophe. But no challenge Wolverine has ever faced can prepare him. On top of learning to lead the X-men for the first time, he's charged with trying to prevent a vision of a dark future from coming to pass. If the X-Men are to stay together as a team long enough to save the world, Wolverine will have to set aside his doubts, and the loaner will have to become a leader.

In celebration of the on-air event, fans can visit Nicktoons Network's website, www.areyouamutant.com, which will launch on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Users may have their DNA "scanned" to determine if they have mutant genes and, if so, they can enter the mansion of the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters. In the mansion, they can visit one of four X-Men-hosted rooms or the Common Room, which will feature Instant Replays of the series post on-air premiere, polls, message boards, as well as episode descriptions and characters profiles. The site, updated weekly, will also feature a link to Nick.com' s Game of The Week, "Wolverine and the X-Men: Sentinel Slash", where Wolverine's quest brings him claw to face with a host of deadly robots in a fast-paced, action-packed 2D battlefield where his reflexes and his mutant healing factor will be just as important as muscle. Players control Wolverine to defeat the enemies in each level, and keep Wolverine alive as long as possible.

Additionally, Wolverine and the X-Men video content will be available on TurboNick and via Nickelodeon's wireless platforms. The series will also have a dedicated category in Nick's Video-On-Demand offering beginning Monday, Jan. 19.

Hugh Jackman Says No to Singing, Yes to Voice Work

From: newsinfilm.com

2008’s “Sexiest Man Alive” is also one of the busiest men in Hollywood. After starring in three movies in 2008 (including Baz Luhrmann’s almost 3 hour epic Australia), Hugh Jackman is wasting no time in lining up his 2010 schedule.

Jackman recently announced he has removed himself from discussions to star in Steven Soderbergh’s 3-D rock musical Cleopatra/Cleo. Maybe it has something to do with it being a strange blend of 3-D, rock music, and Egyptian/Roman love story. Or maybe it’s the weird mixture of Catherine Zeta-Jones Douglas.

The production is looking for a new Marc Antony. Meanwhile, according to Variety, Ray Winstone is in talks to play Julius Caeser.

Jackman’s exit from the project is attributing to scheduling conflicts, which is usually PR speak for “he wasn’t interested.” Though he did recently join the voice cast of Guardians of Ga’Hoole, an animated film from director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen).

It’s based on a 14-book kids series about a barn owl named Soren, who is kidnapped by the owls of St. Aggie’s and taken to an orphanage where owlets are trained as soldiers. After Soren and his friends escape, they travel to the island of Ga’Hoole and join the noble owls there in the fight against the evil St. Aggie’s army. Guardians will cover the first three stories, so if it does well July 30, 2010 you might be looking at a talking owl franchise. Thanks Harry Potter.

Also part of the cast are “Agent Smith” Hugo Weaving and “True Blood” actor Ryan Kwanten.

As for this year, Jackman will be hosting the Oscar telecast in February, slashing stuff as Wolverine in May, and playing a stunt driver in a movie appropriate titled Drive.
